SPECIALIZED NEWS

So this weekend saw the start of our summer closeout which we are referring to as ’21 Days of Savings’ to encompass the Tour and the hype it brings.

Specialized.com and the Specialized YouTube channel will have a huge number of features surrounding the tour and these will be updated daily with great stories, videos and images which we encourage you to use and share across all of your platforms.

We have had 3 key pieces in the media this week –

Peter Sagan’s TDF Venge ViAS – http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/peter-sagans-tour-de-france-s-works-venge-vias-47445/

Sub 6 Shoe – http://www.cyclist.co.uk/buying-guides/1394/six-sets-of-summer-kicks

And another major 5/5 and Test win for the Ruby Comp – Women’s Road Bike of the Year!!!

You could say yesterday didn’t quite go according to plan with Alberto Contador suffering a heavy crash and both Peter Sagan and Marcel Kittel being pipped to the line, but cap’s off to Cav.  Today was his day to finally pull on the yellow jersey and we’ve got a soft spot in our hearts for him as he managed to pull on almost every other jersey imaginable aboard a Specialized in his career!

If you go back through the footage after Contador’s crash, you’ll see a masterclass on how to change an S-Works 6 shoe on the move as well as Matteo Tossato showing how tasty our footbeds remain after half a stage (and who knows how many training miles) are!

There were however huge wins in Nove Mesto yesterday with Sam Gaze winning the U23 Men’s XCO World Title event aboard his Epic and Annika Langvad taking the big win in the Women’s event ahead of Lea Davison on their Era’s.  As soon as I get hi-res imagery

Today we got behind Kate Courtney in the U23 Women’s event and Jaroslav Kulhavy who was hoping to take home the Men’s Elite World Title on his home course but managed to come away with a silver medal, roll on to Rio for JK.

Please follow @leaeatsalot @samgazemtb @annika.langvad @michalcervenyphoto for some great imagery and videos from the XC Worlds.

Going back to the Tour, another exciting day, more crashes for Alberto Contador who loses 48 seconds on his rivals and an incredible sprint, Venge vs Tarmac, Peter Sagan vs Julian Alaphilippe!

Sagan adds to his World Champion Jersey with a Yellow one leading into tomorrow and a great start for Specialized and some strong looking teams.

Here is a link to the cyclingnews.com article showcasing Marcel Kittel’s CERN LHC inspired ‘explosive’ Venge ViAS.
